Hamas gets cocky

In what appears to be a challenge to the Palestinian security forces, Hamas revealed today the names of its commanders in Gaza on its official website.

Those commanders belong to the al-Qassam Brigades, an armed wing of Hamas.

This is the first time that Hamas reveals names of its commanders.
Among those whose names were revealed is Mohamed Deif, commander of the al-Qassam Brigades, and one of Israel’s most wanted fighters since 1991.

Brit murdered in Afghanistan

Original post here.

A body found in Afghanistan is thought to be that of a kidnapped British lorry driver, Foreign Office minister Kim Howells has said.
David Addison, who had been working on a road project, was abducted in the west of the country on Wednesday. His body was found on Saturday morning.

Mr Howells blamed the Taliban saying the group had "committed an atrocity".

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the killing, saying that it believed the Briton was a "military official".

Abdul Latif Hakimi, a spokesman for the Taliban, said six hostages, including a UK contractor had been shot following a decision by a Taleban council, the Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported.

He said the decision to "execute" the British worker was also taken because of Britain's invasion of Afghanistan.

Pointless

According to a friend of mine who is just back from Basra, one of the tactics the insurgeny is using is to tie camels to trees near a base and shoot them.
After a few days in the sun they begin to stink, kill enough of them and smell can be overpowering.

Pointless, but true

Islamic hackers

A statement released by the Faruq Electronic Army:
'The Faruq Electronic Army seeks to publish jihadist and mujahideen news, defend Islam and jihad in light of the Western media’s purported campaign of equating jihad and terror, destroying immoral, vile, and abhorrent websites, Arab and foreign, and establishing an Islamic voice comprising Muslim men with experience in spreading religious rhetoric and inciting to jihad.
If my love for jihad is called terror, then may the world know that I am the first among terrorists.'

You spelt terrorist wrong, it's w..a..n..k..e..r.

Beslan one year on

And we're still no wiser as to what exactly happened.

One white balloon was released for every person that died and a carpet of red carnations ran down the middle of the school's sports hall.
"I look at the weather today and I think it was the same a year ago...God cried for us then and he is crying now."

al-Qaida deny involvement

The Iraqi Al-Qaida has said in a statement released onto the internet that it had nothing to do with the chaos in Baghdad.

Abu Maissara al-Iraki, head of the group's information department posted this statement.
'The Al-Qaida organisation in Mesopotamia denies any implication in the events at Kadhimiya, we have nothing whatsoever to do with it.'

oh thats ok then, I mean if he said they didn't have anything to do with it then I believe them...being so trustworthy and all.
